Now Being Scheduled for the Fall and Winter of 2008

It has been estimated by knowledgeable sources that approximately 60% of Americans die without a will. The percentage for Episcopalians is somewhat less, but certainly still too high. Over a dozen parishes, during the last twenty-four months, have hosted estate planning programs or will clinics in their parishes, where the Foundation has come with a recognized trust and estate lawyer. Many parishioners have found this extraordinarily helpful in understanding a will, the basics of trust agreements, guardianships, powers of attorney, and other end of life decisions including advance medical directives, appointment of medical surrogates, etc. We are in the process of setting up schedules for 2008.

The Clinics normally take about an hour, and can be done on Saturday or Sunday mornings, which seem to be the best time for attracting the most participants. It goes without saying that an emphasis is placed on parishioners including their parish in their estate plans, and what better way to do that than include a bequest in their wills. If you wish to receive additional information on the Will Clinics program, or to schedule this important event in your congregation, please contact:
