Episcopal Charities announces its 2012 outreach grant recipients. $325,000 has been awarded to congregational outreach programs throughout the Diocese in support of their local ministries.

Episcopal Charities Sunday!

Bishop Frade declared Third Epiphany, January 22 as Episcopal Charities Sunday, and encouraged all congregations to take a special offering for our work in supporting outreach throughout the Diocese that feed the hungry, educate youth, serve our seniors, and provide assistance to the sick. Episcopal Charities Receives Two Grant Awards!

Roanridge Trust Announces $25,000 grant to Episcopal Charities

The Roanridge Trust, administered by the Episcopal Church Center, has announced a $25,000 grant to Episcopal Charities of Southeast Florida to increase support of congregational outreach programs in Martin and Monroe Counties. The grant from will enable Episcopal Charities to offer:
1) additional on-site local training and support programs in Martin and Monroe Counties;

2) service-related webinars and virtual training opportunities which can be accessed or archived by program partners and their volunteers wherever the site location might be and;

3) web-based training resources for congregations including samples of effective ministry outreach programs, service planning documents, volunteer curriculum and training materials, best-practice guidelines, survey and effectiveness tools, granting-seeking guidelines, program budget templates, etc. This collection will also provide excellent resources in ministry start-up and program support.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Our first workshops will be held on March 10 at St. Mary's in Stuart, and March 24 at St. Columba in Marathon! Details to follow soon!

Quantum Foundation Funds Episcopal Charities

CONVENTION REPORT:

Those attending November's Diocesan Convention responded generously to our request to bring baby goods for our programs serving families and children in great need! Three truckloads of diapers, formula, and other necessities were filled to the brim and distributed. Thanks to all who participated!

We also thank the fabulous My Backyard Singers who rocked the house with their great performance. Way to go My Backyard!

And not to forget Episcopal Charities' own Deacon Carol Carson-Hull generously donated one of her beautifully crafted quilts for our Convention raffle . . . funds raised supported our mission and lucky Larry Harris was the big winner of the day! Congrats to Larry and thanks all for supporting our work!

Episcopal Charities Sunday! It's not too late to celebrate!

EC Sunday is a day when congregations are asked to offer their prayers for and financial support of the mission and ministry of Episcopal Charities, and to allow us to expand our support of congregational outreach programs throughout our Diocese. EC Executive Director, The Rev. Donna Dambrot, would enjoy the opportunity to speak with congregations about our work from the pulpit, at coffee hours or at your adult forum — please contact her at Donna@ecsefl.org.
